Gravitas, Loyalty, and Balconies
It’s overwhelming really, the feeling of being in the epicenter of something great, of witnessing a movement coming into its own. An old friend asked me yesterday how we keep Sosnovka from getting stale, from becoming just another worthless conference, merely a travel opportunity for opportunistic types. The answer is in the truth that Sosnovka is just as much about relationships as it is about the actual work that we do. haha! dima's first words when he got to my room? "which room is petrov in?" (he was looking for a smoke!) by way of further explanation, first, it was late, not early for them although i had been happily asleep (no sleepy yet for those crazy cats). second, i think he might have been a bit jealous of misha's place in sosnovka lore ;) (misha climbed my balcony to let me in my locked room). or perhaps it's enough to say berega baikala pivo is a strong motivator? ha!
